Agent Roster

Meet the feline response team from the 9L-SRE world. These profiles provide the characters’ narrative background. Their story roles do not establish application permissions.

Selected demo agent: Moxie “Hotfix” Mallow

  • Role: Field responder
  • Appearance: Tortoiseshell
  • Backstory: A former alley cat who tracked a ghost through six vending machines using the maintenance tunnels. Excellent under pressure. Her incident reports usually say “fixed it.”

Moxie is the first playable demo agent. Chief Blackwell is her supervisor.

Rowan “Runtime” Locke

Section titled “Rowan “Runtime” Locke”
  • Role: Field responder; Mallow’s partner and friendly rival
  • Appearance: Black-and-white tuxedo cat
  • Backstory: Tracked a digital ghost that only appeared while a service was running. Refused to shut the system down until he understood what kept bringing it back. Now specialises in tracing active hauntings to their source—and insists that “it stopped happening” is not a diagnosis.
  • Dynamic with Mallow: She wants the incident contained; he wants to know why it happened. They compete over resolution times and argue over her two-word reports, but each trusts the other when a routine call turns dangerous. Runtime quietly fills in the diagnostic notes. Mallow quietly makes sure he gets out before the containment field closes.
  • Signature line: “Your fix worked. I’m still checking why.”

Chief Maxwell “Watchdog” Blackwell

  • Role: Shift supervisor
  • Appearance: Silver tabby
  • Backstory: Spent years patrolling a decommissioned data centre. Knows which machines are haunted and which simply make that noise.

“If the alert stopped, check whether the monitoring died.”

Petra “Patch” Quinn

Section titled “Petra “Patch” Quinn”
  • Role: Containment specialist
  • Appearance: Calico
  • Backstory: Accidentally captured her first ghost inside a broken handheld console. Now builds containment devices from salvaged electronics. Every device has a handwritten label: “DO NOT SHAKE.”

Iona “Ping” Vale

Section titled “Iona “Ping” Vale”
  • Role: Signal analyst
  • Appearance: Siamese
  • Backstory: Can hear spectral interference before the sensors register it. Joined after repeatedly reporting a voice inside the network that everyone else dismissed as packet loss. Still insists it was asking for directions.

Null

Section titled “Null”
  • Role: Senior investigator
  • Appearance: Black cat
  • Backstory: Appears on camera only when nothing important is happening. Every attempt to fix their employee photo produces an empty chair. Their attendance record is nevertheless flawless.

Lord Graydon

Section titled “Lord Graydon”

Standalone character bio from the YouTube series; not a playable agent in 9L-SRE.

  • Role: Agent trainee
  • Skills: None
  • Confidence: Exceptional
  • Character note: Her title has been entered into the rank field three times. Someone keeps correcting it.

Demo profile behaviour

The demo is intended to store these fictional profiles and backstories. Resets should restore the original seeded profiles and incidents rather than remove the characters from the demo. See Core: Data and reset for the intended behavior and open implementation decisions.
